Find Wyoming County Inmate Records

Wyoming County inmate records are searched through a fallback chain because the county does not publish an official online jail roster. A Wyoming County jail roster search starts with the correctional facility, then moves to custody notification, Pennsylvania court dockets, public-records requests, and state or federal locators when the person is not held locally. County jail records, court charge records, and DOC records answer different questions, so each source should be matched to the custody stage.

Wyoming County Jail Records

The official county website has inmate-information pages for Wyoming County Correctional Facility, but no searchable current-inmate roster, booking report, recent-bookings feed, or public mugshot gallery was located. That finding is important. A page that asks for a last name, first name, or booking number would not match the official Wyoming County sources reviewed. The correct local starting point is the facility phone line, followed by public tools that cover custody status, charges, state custody, federal custody, immigration custody, and formal records requests.

The jail itself is listed as Wyoming County Correctional Facility and as Wyoming County Prison in the county directory. It holds people ordered detained by Wyoming County courts, including pre-trial detainees, post-trial detainees, county-sentenced offenders, and court-ordered holds. It may also hold some people tied to other counties under housing arrangements. A person with a Wyoming County case may not be physically in the Wyoming County jail if housed elsewhere or moved to a state, federal, or immigration system.

The official inmate information page links the jail's visitation, phone, mail, FAQ, and handbook resources.

Those county pages are useful for jail rules after custody is confirmed, but they do not replace a public roster search.

Search Wyoming County Jail Custody

The first question is whether the person is in local custody right now. Call Wyoming County Correctional Facility at 570-836-1717 or 570-836-7767. Use the person's full legal name, date of birth if known, and the approximate arrest or court date. Staff disclosure can be limited by policy and law, but the jail is the best local source for current custody, approved mail address format, visitor-list rules, and whether another agency may be involved.

  1. Call the facility and ask whether the person is currently held at Wyoming County Correctional Facility or housed elsewhere.
  2. Check Pennsylvania VINE for custody status or notification registration if the person may be in a participating custody feed.
  3. Search UJS Case Search or PAeDocket for charges, bail entries, hearing dates, and docket status.
  4. Use the PA DOC locator if the person has been sentenced to state custody or is on parole.
  5. Use BOP, U.S. Marshals contacts, or the ICE locator when the case or hold is federal or immigration related.

Wyoming County Roster Fields

Wyoming County does not publish an official roster form with searchable fields. That means no official online field labels, required inputs, profile buttons, or booking-number filters were found for the county jail. Treat any non-county roster site with care. If the site is not linked by Wyoming County, the jail, Pennsylvania courts, the Pennsylvania DOC, VINE, BOP, or ICE, it may be incomplete, stale, or commercial.

For formal public records, use the county Right-to-Know process instead of a web contact form. The county's facility contact form asks for name, email, phone number, and a message, but the research file notes that it is not the official records-request channel.

Wyoming County Inmate Sources

Since no official roster profile was available for inspection, the reliable answer is a source-by-source field inventory. A facility call may confirm current custody and may provide visit or mail instructions. A UJS docket can show charges and bail. VINE can support notification. The PA DOC locator covers state custody and parole. A Right-to-Know response can be used for booking sheets, logs, jail reports, or policy records when not exempt or redacted.

Wyoming County Custody Channels

A current jail question should not be sent straight to the state prison locator. The Pennsylvania DOC service page says its locator covers incarcerated or department-supervised people in Pennsylvania and is updated daily, but it also says county-facility inmates and people in another state cannot be found there. That means a newly arrested person in Tunkhannock, a pre-trial detainee, or someone serving a short county sentence may not appear in DOC search results.

Note: A court docket can show bail and charges, but it does not prove where a person is physically housed today.

Wyoming County Booking Records

Booking starts after arrest or court commitment. The District Attorney page explains that Pennsylvania State Police or local police investigate crimes and file criminal complaints with magisterial district judges. A copy goes to the District Attorney, who prosecutes the case. The jail handbook adds the custody side: commitment paperwork, search and property handling, medical and mental-health screening, phone-list setup, classification, and housing assignment.

Classification is not a public roster field in Wyoming County because no public roster was found, but it is a real jail process. The handbook says the jail considers offense type, bail amount, prior criminal record, detainers, sentence, violence history or risk, escape risk, mental or emotional condition, physical condition, and program needs. A person may move from one housing block to another if behavior or needs change.

Wyoming County Visit Schedule

Visitation depends on the housing block. Visitors must be on the approved list and must bring valid photo identification, such as a driver's license, passport, or government ID. The jail may deny visitors for safety, supervision, witness, prior rule violation, intoxication, felony, or other listed concerns. Visitors are subject to search and may not bring food, drinks, purses, coats, jackets, or nonessential items into the visitation room.
